Protect your Volkswagen · official Drive Easy · nationwide
Protect the car — not just the payment.
Factory warranty covers defects. These plans cover what happens after: mechanical breakdown, potholes, a totaled loan, a lost fob, lease-end wear. Sold by Platinum Volkswagen LLC in Hicksville. Honored at participating VW dealers anywhere in the country.
What each plan actually protects

Vehicle Service Protection
Pays for covered mechanical repairs after the factory warranty ends.
Who it’s for. New and used Volkswagens. Pick a term up to 10 years / 150,000 miles on newer model years.
What’s covered
Powertrain: engine, transmission, transaxle or transfer case, drive axle(s), and certain hybrid / electric components
Gold: everything in Powertrain, plus front and rear suspension, climate control, fuel system, electrical, and additional hybrid / electric parts
Platinum (exclusionary): all mechanical parts unless the agreement lists them as not covered — closest to extending bumper-to-bumper
You choose the deductible; you pay that, not the repair bill, on covered work
Typically not covered. Maintenance items (spark plugs, wiper blades, fluids), trim, upholstery, and body panels are typically excluded. Exact lists are in the agreement.
Term Protection
Covers the wear items factory warranty does not — brakes, battery, belts, wipers.
Who it’s for. Usually available in the first 12 months or 12,000 miles of the new-vehicle limited warranty.
What’s covered
One replacement set of front and rear brake pads
One replacement battery
Most major engine belts and hoses
One set of wiper blades or inserts
One wheel alignment
Headlamps, bulbs, and fuses
Diagnostics and fluids when done with a covered service
Also included
Term Protection Plus adds mechanical-breakdown coverage on top of the wear items
Optional brake-rotor coverage: one set of front and rear rotors
Rental reimbursement and trip-interruption on qualifying repairs (limits in the agreement)
No deductible on the wear-item coverage itself
Typically not covered. Only the quantities listed (for example, one battery, one pad set) unless you add Plus. Abuse, collision, and listed exclusions do not pay.
CPO Vehicle Service Protection
Keeps a Certified Pre-Owned Volkswagen covered after the CPO warranty winds down.
Who it’s for. Volkswagen Certified Pre-Owned only. Can extend protection toward 10 years / 150,000 miles.
What’s covered
Same three levels as new-car Vehicle Service Protection: Powertrain, Gold, or Platinum
Engine, transmission, and driveline on Powertrain; Gold and Platinum add more systems as above
Also included
Roadside assistance, towing, rental car, and trip interruption on covered repairs
Genuine VW parts at participating dealers nationwide
Typically not covered. Not for non-CPO used cars — those use standard Vehicle Service Protection. Cosmetic and maintenance items stay out.
Lease-End Protection
Helps with the wear-and-tear bill Volkswagen Credit assesses at turn-in.
Who it’s for. Customers leasing through a participating program. Buy it at lease inception — not the week you turn the car in.
What’s covered
Covered excess wear-and-tear: interior stains, chips, dents, dings, tire wear (limits in the agreement, commonly up to $10,000)
A limited number of excess miles (commonly up to 500)
Charges for certain missing parts, up to the agreement cap
Also included
Typically no deductible on covered lease-end charges
Typically not covered. Collision, neglected maintenance, and damage outside the agreement’s wear schedule still sit with you.
Guaranteed Asset Protection (GAP)
If the car is totaled, GAP can close the hole between insurance and what you still owe.
Who it’s for. Anyone financing or leasing. Most useful when the loan is larger than the car’s actual cash value — first years of a new deal, small down payment, or negative equity rolled in.
What’s covered
The difference between the primary insurance settlement and the remaining finance or lease balance on a covered total loss (accident, theft, or disaster)
Waiver of the primary insurance deductible, commonly up to $1,000
Also included
May cover a finance balance up to a set percentage of MSRP / NADA (often 150%)
Transferable if another private party assumes the contract (fee applies)
Cancelable; after a short window a fee may apply
Typically not covered. GAP is not car insurance. It does not pay for repairs. State, lender, and dealer addenda control the exact waiver.
Tire & Wheel Protection
Road-hazard damage to tires and wheels — potholes, nails, debris — not the factory tire warranty.
Who it’s for. New, CPO, or used. Optional cosmetic add-on for curb rash.
What’s covered
Repair or replace a tire that is structurally damaged by a covered road hazard
Replace a wheel when road-hazard damage keeps it from sealing to the tire or holding specified air pressure
Optional cosmetic coverage for appearance damage such as curb rash
Also included
Work performed at participating dealers; mounting and balancing on covered replacements
Typically not covered. Wear-out, dry rot, misalignment from neglected maintenance, and racing or off-road abuse are typical exclusions.
Multi-Coverage Protection
One agreement that stacks several Drive Easy products instead of buying them à la carte.
Who it’s for. Buyers who want tire & wheel plus other selected protections on a single contract.
What’s covered
Tire & Wheel Protection as the core
Additional Drive Easy products you choose at sale — we quote the bundle on your VIN
Also included
One deductible structure and one cancellation path instead of several contracts
Typically not covered. Only the products written on the agreement are in force. We will list them on the quote so nothing is assumed.
Theft Protection
Helps with out-of-pocket costs after a covered theft — not a replacement for comprehensive insurance.
Who it’s for. Owners who want a cushion if the vehicle or listed parts are stolen.
What’s covered
Covered theft of the vehicle or listed components, per the agreement
Help with deductibles or specified out-of-pocket items after the insurance claim
Also included
Works alongside your auto policy; it does not replace comprehensive coverage
Typically not covered. Unreported theft, keys left in the vehicle, and items not listed in the agreement.
Key Protection
Replaces lost, stolen, or damaged keys and fobs — including programming.
Who it’s for. Any Volkswagen with a programmed key or remote. Especially useful on later cars where a fob can run hundreds of dollars.
What’s covered
Replacement key or fob when lost, stolen, or damaged
Dealer programming so the new key actually starts the car
Also included
Limits and number of occurrences are in the agreement
Typically not covered. Wear from normal use, aftermarket remotes, and keys you still have but want duplicated for convenience may not pay.

Volkswagen Drive Easy products are optional. They are not required to buy, lease, or finance a vehicle from Platinum Volkswagen LLC. Coverage, deductibles, occurrence limits, exclusions, and eligibility (new, CPO, used, lease) are governed solely by the customer agreement. Plans are sold here and serviced at participating Volkswagen dealers nationwide. We do not publish plan prices — every quote is VIN-specific. MyVWInsurance is Liberty Mutual, not Drive Easy.
